Spruce Park Ranch was founded in 1964 by Les
Trautman. He began by raising purebred Hereford cattle, barley,
and forage crops. In 1972, he married Marilyn Attwood; and together
they farmed their land, which is located south of Spruce Grove,
Alberta. They had two children, Karen and Bradley. In 1989,
they started raising sheep as a hobby for Marilyn and the kids.
One year later, they purchased their first purebred Katahdin
(Ka-TAH-din) ewes and today the flock consists of more than
100 Katahdin sheep. Since then, they have grown to love this
gentle but hardy breed. Spruce Park Ranch prides itself on being
a family business. With the help of their now-grown children;
son-in-law, James; and grandchildren, this family’s goal
is to become a leader in their industry.
Today, Spruce Park Ranch has evolved into a Country Store specializing
in natural, organic food products and primitive country home
décor. Whenever possible, food is from local producers
such as honey, eggs, buffalo, chicken, and grains. Of course
the beef and lamb are still raised right at home. With goal
to provide healthy options for clients, Spruce Park Ranch has
also extended its services provided by offering Health &
Wellness seminars geared towards making lifestyle changes.
So if you dream of a healthy future, long for nutritious foods,
or just want to cozy your home with the warmth that prim décor
provides, take a beautiful drive to the country and relax in
our store. |
